BDVP

OPERATING:

RESIDENTIAL
Families who seek shelter tend to be the most vulnerable, demonstrate the most need, and have often had the fewest life chances. Your financial investment ensures a secure space for survivors to maintain personal safety and explore their options for healing and self-sufficiency.

NON-RESIDENTIAL
Your investment allows us to serve the thousands of families in the 17 county area who are affected by domestic violence. We are able to offer comprehensive services such as counseling, advocacy, housing assistance and financial literacy while safely keeping families in their homes and communities.

CRISIS LINE
Investing in this program provides a 24 hour, toll-free confidential crisis line at 1-800-544-2022. Crisis counseling includes safety planning, dynamics of domestic violence, power and control effect on children exposed to batterers, legal options, and grief and loss.

VICTIM'S SURVIVOR FUND
Investing in this fund allows victims a jump start to self-sufficiency. It assists victims who have basic financial needs such as housing and utility deposits, first month's rent, medication, transportation and legal document filing fees. Requests for financial assistance are approved dependent upon funding resources and provided based on financial need.

INTERPRETATION AND TRANSLATION
Finding yourself in a violent situation is frightening enough. Finding yourself as a victim without the ability to adequately communicate or understand the culture around you, can be paralyzing. Investing in this program ensures interpretation services are available to assist non-English speaking and hearing impaired victims understand their legal rights for protection.

INFORMATION AND REFERRAL SERVICES
One of the most difficult phases to recovery, is the rebuilding phase. Investing in this service allows victims to have access to non-profit and for-profit community resources for housing, legal, employment, medical, and education services. All referrals are based on the goals and stated desires of the survivor.

TRANSPORTATION
Investing in this service ensures the provision of bus tokens, shuttle services, and/or cab fare to assist clients in seeking and maintaining employment, securing childcare services, attending legal proceedings, and completing educational goals.
